Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for expediting and completing long-pending infrastructure projects nationwide. Sarma highlighted the transformative impact of these initiatives on Assam’s development and national connectivity. Notably, projects like the Bogibeel Bridge in Assam, the Jammu–Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla railway link, the Navi Mumbai International Airport in Maharashtra, and the Bhilai Steel Plant modernization have been successfully executed.
Sarma expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s governance and political will in overcoming project delays that had persisted for decades. He specifically lauded the Bogibeel Bridge as a symbol of Assam’s progress, attributing its realization to Prime Minister Modi’s vision and the efficient use of the PRAGATI platform. The 4.94-km-long Bogibeel Bridge, connecting Dibrugarh and Dhemaji districts over the Brahmaputra River, has significantly enhanced connectivity in eastern Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
The completion of infrastructure projects like the Bogibeel Bridge signifies a shift towards timely execution under the Modi government. Sarma emphasized that these developments have integrated remote regions with the national framework, fostering economic growth and opportunities. Assam has experienced substantial infrastructure growth, including bridges, highways, airports, and railway connectivity, owing to the government’s focused attention on the Northeast.
Sarma reiterated Assam’s commitment to collaborating with the Centre for accelerated development and inclusive growth within the state. He emphasized that the successful completion of long-pending projects not only enhances India’s infrastructure but also reinstates public trust in governance and implementation efforts.
