Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed worry on Thursday about the shifting demographics in the state, labeling it as a cause for alarm. He emphasized that the BJP’s focus will be on safeguarding Assembly constituencies crucial for Assam’s future. Sarma highlighted the significant implications of demographic changes on social harmony, cultural identity, and long-term development in the state.

The Chief Minister outlined that the BJP’s political strategy will prioritize protecting the interests of indigenous communities while promoting inclusive development for all segments of society. He reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing issues related to illegal immigration, land protection, and cultural preservation. Sarma mentioned the upcoming Jana Ashirwad Yatra, emphasizing its aim to not only showcase the government’s achievements but also to directly engage with people across Assam.

He stressed that the yatra serves as a platform for party leaders to understand the aspirations and concerns of citizens at the grassroots level, influencing policies in alignment with public expectations. Sarma highlighted the BJP government’s initiatives in infrastructure, education, healthcare, employment, and social welfare as foundational for Assam’s progress. Additionally, he underscored the party’s dedication to maintaining the state’s identity and demographic equilibrium.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence in the continued support of the people of Assam for the BJP, recognizing the party’s endeavors to ensure stability, development, and protection of the state’s interests. Sarma emphasized that the trust and backing of the populace are crucial, affirming the commitment to forge a secure, developed, and culturally rich Assam. The Jana Ashirwad Yatra is set to traverse various districts in the upcoming days before significant political events in the state.
