Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized state Congress Chief Gaurav Gogoi, suggesting Gogoi would fare better in elections in Pakistan than in Assam. Sarma made these remarks during an election campaign in Guwahati, alleging that Gogoi’s support base was stronger outside India.
Sarma expressed confidence in the BJP’s electoral success, stating that the ruling alliance was likely to secure a decisive victory. He highlighted the significant public turnout at campaign events, indicating strong support for the BJP and its allies.
The Chief Minister projected a positive outcome for the BJP-led alliance in the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, predicting a potential majority of over 100 seats. The elections for the 126-member Assam assembly are scheduled for April 9, with the vote count set for May 4.
