Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) president Lurinjyoti Gogoi expressed his approval of the Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) inauguration in Moran by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Gogoi emphasized the importance of prioritizing national security over political interests. He stressed that initiatives enhancing India’s defense readiness merit support regardless of political affiliations.
Gogoi’s stance contrasts with Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi’s objections to the Moran Emergency Landing Facility project. Without directly mentioning the Congress leader, Gogoi asserted that defense infrastructure should transcend political considerations. He highlighted the significance of safeguarding the nation and maintaining preparedness during crises.
The Emergency Landing Facility inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Moran, Dibrugarh district, is the first of its kind in the Northeast. Designed to facilitate Indian Air Force operations during emergencies, the ELF significantly bolsters defense preparedness in the eastern region. Security experts underscored the strategic importance of the Moran ELF due to Assam’s proximity to international borders and its role in the Northeast.
The facility is poised to support disaster response, emergency operations, and swift deployment of defense forces. Gogoi commended Assam’s contribution to national defense infrastructure, emphasizing the state’s unwavering support for the nation. He highlighted that infrastructure reinforcing India’s security also boosts public confidence.
The inauguration of the Moran ELF signifies a pivotal advancement in fortifying defense infrastructure in the Northeast.
