Australian midfielder Katrina Gorry will be leaving West Ham United Women as her contract ends in June. Gorry, who is 33 years old, will play her final game for the team against Manchester City Women in the Barclays Women’s Super League this Saturday. She joined West Ham in January 2024 and quickly became a key player for the club, eventually being appointed as the captain.
During the 2024/25 season, Gorry featured in every WSL match, scoring three goals. This season was notable for West Ham, achieving their best-ever home campaign with record points and home wins in a single WSL season. Gorry’s leadership qualities and openness about personal struggles, such as overcoming an eating disorder and her journey to parenthood through IVF, have been commended.
In the current season, Gorry participated in 18 matches across all competitions and contributed to the Australian women’s national soccer team’s advancement to the final of the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup, hosted in Australia. In a statement released by West Ham United, Gorry expressed her emotions about leaving the club, emphasizing the honor of captaining the team and the support received from fans and the club.
