Rapper-singer Badshah did not appear in Panipat as summoned by the Haryana State Commission for Women, leading Chairperson Renu Bhatia to order his arrest regarding the contentious Haryanvi song Tateeree. The police in Panipat and Panchkula were instructed to take action against Badshah, with warnings that his shows in Haryana would be prohibited unless he cooperates.
Chairperson Bhatia also directed the police to seize Badshah’s passport if necessary to prevent him from leaving the country to evade investigation. Despite Badshah’s counsel receiving a scheduled time slot from the Women’s Commission, the Chairperson declined to meet with them, emphasizing the need for Badshah’s personal appearance.
The rapper, known as Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, has already issued a public apology on social media, expressing that there was no intention to offend anyone with the song. The Women’s Commission has taken note of the controversial track and initiated legal actions against Badshah, following complaints about the song’s content and visuals.
