Spanish club Getafe has finalized the permanent acquisition of midfielder Mario Martin from Real Madrid. Martin, 22 years old, has inked a contract with Getafe until June 2030. He played a crucial role last season while on loan at Getafe, aiding the team in securing a seventh-place finish in La Liga and a spot in the upcoming UEFA Conference League.
Martin, known for his industrious style, appeared in 35 league matches last season, scoring two goals and receiving 11 yellow cards during over 2,200 minutes on the field. Prior to his time at Getafe, he featured for Real Valladolid and made significant contributions to the team’s successful campaign.
Having previously represented Real Madrid Castilla and made two appearances for Real Madrid’s senior team, Martin brings a wealth of experience to Getafe. He has also showcased his talent on the international stage, playing for Spain at the under-19 and under-21 levels.
Getafe recently secured a place in European competition for the upcoming season. The team’s victory, sealed by Luis Milla’s goal in the 59th minute, ensured a seventh-place league finish and a berth in the Conference League.
