The Baloch National Movement (BNM) has urged the international community to address the severe human rights abuses in Balochistan. At a United Nations Human Rights Council session in Geneva, BNM representatives highlighted enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and restrictions on freedom of expression in Balochistan. Mahra Baloch, a BNM member, emphasized that civilians in the region are facing collective punishment for merely existing.

In her address, Mahra Baloch criticized the Pakistani state for using laws to suppress dissent and silence the Baloch people. She pointed out that the Anti-Terrorism Act has been misused to target Baloch students, activists, and human rights defenders. The Human Rights Department of BNM documented 1355 enforced disappearances and 225 extrajudicial killings in Balochistan in 2025 alone, illustrating the gravity of the situation.

Mahra highlighted the plight of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leadership, including Nobel Peace Prize nominee Mahrang Baloch, who has been arbitrarily arrested and denied medical care. She raised concerns about internet shutdowns, mass surveillance, and collective punishments in Balochistan to prevent the world from witnessing the atrocities. Mahra called on the international community to demand an immediate end to these violations, release detained Baloch activists, and ensure transparent investigations into disappearances and killings.
