The Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) have taken credit for attacks in Balochistan’s Sibi and Sohbatpur districts, destroying two electricity towers and damaging two others. The group’s spokesperson, Dostain Baloch, stated that explosives planted by their fighters in Sibi’s Lemji area caused the collapse of two towers and significant damage to two more. Additionally, the BRG targeted a Pakistani Rangers checkpoint in Sohbatpur’s Buskat area using various weapons, resulting in casualties and damage to the Rangers.
These incidents are part of a series of attacks by Baloch groups on Pakistani military and police in Balochistan, leading to significant casualties and infrastructure damage. The BRG emphasized that such operations will persist until Balochistan gains independence from Pakistan. In a separate event, a pickup truck carrying eight individuals, including women and children, disappeared between Pasni and Shadi Kaur regions in Gwadar district during a military operation, with over 50 people reportedly detained.
Amid escalating violence against civilians in Balochistan, Pakistani forces conducted operations in various areas, including Zareen Kaur, Tarati, Goristani, and Kabadi, imposing restrictions on movement. In the Koshkalat region of Kech district, the military operation resulted in several detentions and one reported fatality, with gunfire heard in the vicinity. Balochistan continues to face severe repression by Pakistani forces, characterized by enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of Baloch civilians.
