Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, in his Eid message, urged citizens to support the government’s efforts in shaping a better Bangladesh. He emphasized the importance of public backing for achieving the country’s aspirations. Rahman expressed gratitude for the sacrifices made during the Bangladesh Liberation War and the 2024 mass demonstrations.

He extended Eid greetings to diplomats, politicians, and citizens, highlighting the festive spirit at the National Eidgah in Dhaka. Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in Bangladesh are marked by heightened security measures to ensure safety during the festivities. Opposition leader Shafiqur Rahman criticized the government for failing to address issues like high travel fares, impacting the joy of Eid for many.

The opposition leader raised concerns over the financial burden faced by travelers, especially low-income individuals, during the holiday season. He condemned the government for not controlling transportation costs effectively, labeling it a national disgrace. Rahman called for measures to make Eid travel more affordable and convenient for the public, emphasizing the responsibility of the authorities.
