The Bankipur Assembly bye-election nomination process officially started on Monday with the issuance of the election notification by the Additional Chief Electoral Officer’s office. This initiation enforces the Model Code of Conduct for the constituency. Candidates are required to submit their nomination papers at the Deputy Collector’s chamber in Patna Sadar, situated on the second floor of the Patna Sadar Sub-divisional Office at the Collectorate.
The election schedule dictates that the notification was issued on Monday, marking the commencement of the nomination process, which will conclude on July 13. Nomination papers’ scrutiny is scheduled for July 14, and candidates have until July 16 to withdraw their candidature. Nomination papers can be filed daily between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. during the nomination period.
Raghavendra Pratap Singh, the Deputy Collector (Land Reforms) in Patna Sadar, has been designated as the Returning Officer for the bye-election. To ensure a smooth nomination process, Patna District Magistrate Kundan Kumar has deployed magistrates, police officers, and security personnel at the nomination venue.
