German football club Bayern Munich faces a setback as their star full-back Alphonso Davies will be out of action for several weeks due to a hamstring injury sustained during the UEFA Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain. The Bundesliga champions confirmed the injury on Friday but did not provide a specific timeline for Davies’ recovery.
Davies, who came on as a substitute in the second leg against PSG, suffered the muscle injury in his left hamstring. Despite his limited time on the field, the Canadian international played a crucial role in setting up a goal for Bayern. However, the injury occurred towards the end of the match as Bayern exited the competition.
This injury will force Davies to miss Bayern’s upcoming Bundesliga matches against VfL Wolfsburg and 1. FC Koln. His availability for the DFB Cup final against VfB Stuttgart on May 23 remains uncertain. Davies has faced a challenging season marked by various injuries, including a cruciate ligament tear at the beginning of the season and a hamstring issue in March.
