A Bhopal district court has rejected advocate Samarth Singh’s interim bail plea related to his wife Twisha Sharma’s death. The plea was dismissed by Justice Pallavi Dube after a two-and-a-half-hour hearing where both sides presented their arguments. Twisha’s family opposed the bail, citing Singh’s absconding since her death and his mother’s involvement as a co-accused who was granted interim bail earlier.
Bhopal police have offered a reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to Samarth Singh’s arrest. Despite search operations at various locations, Singh remains elusive, with his mobile phones switched off. Twisha Sharma, 33, was found dead at her home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills area on May 12, with Singh missing since dropping her at a medical facility that night.
The police have filed a case against Samarth Singh and his mother under dowry death and harassment charges. Twisha’s body is at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences mortuary, as her family demands a second post-mortem outside Madhya Pradesh due to concerns over the investigation’s fairness. A Special Investigation Team, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajnish Kashyap, has been formed to probe the case.
