Bihar BJP President, Sanjay Saraogi, strongly criticized the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, accusing them of failing in their constitutional duties. Saraogi expressed concerns over the state of affairs in Punjab and alleged corruption and criminal activities during AAP’s tenure in Delhi under Arvind Kejriwal. He highlighted issues like active drug networks and high levels of corruption in Punjab.
The political turmoil in Punjab escalated following the tragic suicide of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, a District Manager in Amritsar. Allegations surfaced, implicating AAP MLA Laljit Singh Bhullar in Randhawa’s alleged torture, sparking a series of accusations among political parties. Congress spokesperson Surendra Rajput also criticized AAP, labeling them as a party of corrupt individuals responsible for ruining Punjab.
Amid mounting pressure, Bhullar, who served as the state Transport Minister, resigned. Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi called for a CBI probe into Randhawa’s suicide, emphasizing the need for an investigation beyond state mechanisms. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accepted Bhullar’s resignation and ordered an impartial inquiry to address the situation and ensure accountability.
The ongoing political unrest in Punjab underscores the demand for transparency and accountability surrounding Randhawa’s death. Opposition parties are pushing for answers, while the government pledges an unbiased investigation to address the escalating tensions in the state.
