Bihar CM Samrat Chaudhary led a review meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat to assess the status of key schemes under Urban Development, Housing, Panchayati Raj, and Tourism departments. He emphasized the need for speedy and transparent project implementation with a focus on quality. Officials were directed to prioritize completion of urban development projects, especially in sanitation and water supply.
Vinay Kumar, the principal secretary of urban development and housing, provided updates on various initiatives such as city master plans, the Regional Rapid Transit System, and Patna Metro during the meeting. Additionally, he briefed the Chief Minister on centrally sponsored schemes like AMRUT and Swachh Bharat Mission.
Aditya Prakash, the additional chief secretary of the Panchayati Raj Department, outlined the progress of rural projects and upcoming schemes. Meanwhile, Shashank Shubhankhar, the District Magistrate of Gaya, presented development plans for key temple corridors in Bodh Gaya and Gaya.
The Chief Minister stressed the importance of completing infrastructure projects with high durability and quality standards. He also urged officials to expedite housing delivery under PMAY (Urban) and explore the Public-Private Partnership model for solid waste management. Special attention was given to environmental infrastructure, including sewage treatment plants along the Ganga River and the development of crematoriums at traditional last-rites locations for public convenience.
Emphasizing urban mobility, the Chief Minister called for accelerating the Patna Metro Rail Project to enhance commuting ease for residents. Integration of metro links connecting key terminals was highlighted as a crucial step in improving transportation in Patna.
