Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, Samrat Choudhary, delivered a strong message to police officers during the Republic Day celebrations in Patna. He emphasized that officers who cannot handle weapons should step down and leave their positions. Choudhary highlighted the need for law enforcement agencies to adapt to new challenges and responsibilities in the changing landscape of India.
Choudhary, also overseeing Patna district, directed the police administration to prevent the presence of criminal elements in society. He emphasized the importance of taking decisive action against criminal activities and urged the police to operate with courage and professionalism. The Deputy CM’s comments come amidst growing criticism of the Bihar Police, especially in light of recent incidents like the tragic death of a NEET aspirant in Patna.
At the event, Choudhary announced plans for establishing a degree college in Sampatchak by the following year. He instructed officials to promptly identify and allocate suitable land for the college project. Additionally, he criticized the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for appointing Tejashwi Yadav as its national working president, highlighting the essence of democracy where positions are not inherited but earned through public service.
