Bihar Minister Dilip Jaiswal backed Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s statement linking Hindu-Muslim issues to Congress’s secularism approach and vote bank politics. Jaiswal criticized Congress for promoting appeasement politics since Independence, accusing the party of damaging India’s social harmony. He highlighted Congress’s alleged efforts to sow discord among communities and keep minorities away from the BJP.
Jaiswal also accused Congress of adopting a divide-and-rule strategy reminiscent of British colonial tactics. Meanwhile, Nitin Gadkari, at an event in New Delhi, emphasized that true secularism means equal respect for all religions and justice for every citizen. He stressed that India’s secular ethos is rooted in its cultural heritage, not tied to any political group, and underscored the nation’s commitment to collective welfare over individual or familial gain.
Gadkari further asserted that Hindu culture is inclusive and compassionate, rejecting the notion of authoritarianism or expansionism historically associated with other cultures. He lamented the misinterpretation of Bharatiya and Sanatan Sanskriti, attributing it to internal and external misrepresentations of India’s cultural history.
