The weather in Bihar took a sudden turn on Friday with heavy rainfall, strong winds, and lightning strikes in various districts. While the rain provided relief from the heat, unfortunate incidents involving lightning strikes led to the loss of four lives. In Gaya district, a farmer named Dinesh Yadav lost his life after being struck by lightning while grazing his buffaloes.
The tragic incident occurred in Kishun Chak village, where Dinesh Yadav was hit by a powerful lightning strike amid thunder and lightning. Despite efforts from villagers and family members, he succumbed to his injuries. The incident left his family devastated, with his wife collapsing upon seeing his body. Dinesh Yadav is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters, one of whom had recently been married.
In another unfortunate event in Gaya district, a 17-year-old girl named Manisha Kumari lost her life due to a lightning strike, while her mother, Gauri Devi, sustained severe burn injuries. Seeking shelter from the rain under a tree, they were struck by lightning, resulting in the tragic outcome. The mother is currently receiving medical treatment for her injuries. Additionally, lightning strikes claimed two more lives in Saran and Patna districts.
The weather disturbance also affected Sitamarhi district, bringing sudden rainfall and strong winds that damaged trees, electric poles, and structures. The storm caused disruptions, including power outages and property damage. The Meteorological Department forecasts continued strong winds and rainfall in the district in the upcoming days.
