Amid Rahul Gandhi’s claims of India being treated unfairly in the India-US trade pact, the BJP has intensified its criticism, labeling his narrative as fabricated and divorced from reality. BJP lawmakers dismissed Gandhi’s assertions, assuring that the trade agreement will not harm Indian businesses, especially in the textile and cotton sectors. They reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding farmers from any adverse impacts.
Rahul Gandhi, representing Rae Bareli, expressed concerns that the trade deal could negatively impact cotton farmers and textile exporters in India. BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal accused Gandhi and the Congress of orchestrating a deliberate scheme to mislead the public, emphasizing that India is progressing under PM Modi’s leadership despite Congress’ attempts to create confusion.
Khandelwal highlighted that the Congress is misleading farmers by falsely claiming that their interests are being compromised, whereas the government has assured that India’s interests will be protected. He criticized Gandhi for spreading falsehoods and stated that the opposition leader’s behavior contradicts the responsibilities of his position.
Another BJP MP, Yogendra Chandolia, criticized Gandhi for his lack of understanding of farmers’ issues, suggesting that he is disconnected from the agricultural reality. Chandolia questioned Gandhi’s knowledge of farming practices and accused him of being detached from the concerns of farmers, asserting that Gandhi’s political approach is misguided.
