BJP’s Amit Malviya accused Trinamool Congress of engaging in electoral malpractices in Diamond Harbour during the West Bengal Assembly election’s second phase. Malviya claimed that BJP voting options were obstructed in multiple booths, urging for a repoll due to these actions. He referred to this as the ‘Diamond Harbour Model,’ linking it to Mamata Banerjee’s nephew’s past electoral success.
Malviya presented video evidence of the alleged malpractices within the booths. He specifically highlighted the need for a repoll in affected booths like Falta 144 Part 170, Room No. 2 – Harindanga High School, and Booth 189. The ongoing Assembly elections in West Bengal are witnessing heightened security measures, with polling taking place in 142 constituencies across six districts and Kolkata.
In the Bhabanipur constituency, a significant contest is underway between Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari. The second phase of polling is being conducted under extensive security arrangements involving various central and state forces. The election results are scheduled to be announced on May 4.
