The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized the Congress for the delayed announcement of V.D. Satheesan as the next Chief Minister of Kerala, citing internal conflicts within the party. BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal expressed concern over the 10-day gap between the election results and the decision, suggesting underlying issues within the Congress. Despite this, Khandelwal emphasized that the matter remains internal to the Congress.
Echoing these sentiments, BJP National Spokesperson R.P. Singh highlighted the reported internal conflicts within the Congress leadership, attributing the delay to the party’s dynastic nature. Singh expressed hope for Kerala’s development under Satheesan’s leadership, congratulating him on his upcoming role as Chief Minister.
Following the official announcement by the Congress High Command, V.D. Satheesan expressed gratitude for the opportunity and pledged to dedicate his Chief Ministership to the people of Kerala. He emphasized the importance of building a strong team to drive the state’s progress and welfare. Meanwhile, scenes of celebration erupted at the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram as Satheesan was welcomed by enthusiastic party members and leaders, reminiscent of past electoral victories.
