As the West Bengal Assembly elections’ second phase nears, BJP Bihar President Sanjay Saraogi echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s observations about the challenging circumstances in the state under the Trinamool Congress government led by Mamata Banerjee. Saraogi highlighted concerns over issues like infiltration affecting demographics and resource distribution. He noted the public’s response during the initial voting phase, emphasizing voters’ discontent and active participation.
Campaigning for the final election phase in West Bengal concluded recently, with 142 constituencies set for polling on April 29 across eight electoral districts. Saraogi also commented on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, stating that the people of Bihar have rejected him, pointing out his visits to various states like Kerala and West Bengal. Regarding the deployment of an Uttar Pradesh Police encounter specialist during the elections, Saraogi mentioned that it aligns with the Election Commission of India’s standard procedures.
In a bid to ensure fair elections, the Election Commission has appointed Ajay Pal Sharma, a distinguished IPS officer, as a police observer for the crucial second phase of polling in South 24 Parganas. Sharma, known for his stringent policing approach and professional competence, hails from the Uttar Pradesh cadre and has a reputation for handling high-risk operations effectively.
