The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lodged a complaint with the Election Commission of India accusing West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of violating the model code of conduct. The complaint highlighted the display of Mamata Banerjee’s photo in a state government project despite the MCC’s regulations.

The BJP’s complaint emphasized that the display of Mamata Banerjee’s images in public places was a breach of both the model code of conduct and the Representation of the People Act, 1951. The party urged the immediate removal of all such hoardings and banners featuring Banerjee.

Mamata Banerjee, in response, addressed multiple rallies in North Bengal ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections. She criticized the deployment of CAPF companies in the state, alleging their bias towards the BJP. Banerjee called on the women of West Bengal to safeguard polling booths against external interference during the elections.
