Former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai expressed optimism about the BJP’s success in the upcoming Assembly by-elections in Karnataka. He stated that the BJP is poised to win in Bagalkot and Davanagere South constituencies, with results expected on Monday. Bommai highlighted the reported defeat of the Congress candidate in the Sringeri Assembly constituency after a vote recount, which he described as an embarrassment for the Congress. He criticized the Congress for allegedly regressing the electoral process and resorting to outdated methods like ballot paper voting due to their losses.
Addressing governance issues, Bommai accused the Congress government in Karnataka of being ineffective, leading to a standstill in administration. He emphasized the importance of education, envisioning Koppal as a future global educational hub during the inauguration of a girls’ college in the district. Bommai praised the educational efforts of the Gavisiddheshwara Mutt seers in shaping not just knowledge but also values among students.
Bommai emphasized the shift from land and wealth to knowledge as the new source of power in the 21st century. He highlighted the influence of figures like Elon Musk, attributing their significance to knowledge and innovation. Bommai envisioned institutions like the one in Koppal becoming centers of knowledge to contribute to the region’s educational prominence.
