The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized the Congress and Rahul Gandhi for their statements on the Rafale fighter jets allegedly shot down by Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. The BJP referred to a 2026 Indian Air Force tender for support on all 36 Rafale jets to refute Pakistan’s claims.

The BJP’s national spokesperson, Shehzad Poonawalla, stated that the recent tender for Rafale support has debunked the narrative pushed by Pakistan and the Congress. Operation Sindoor, a retaliatory military action by India against Pakistan, led to conflicting claims on aircraft losses before a ceasefire.

Accusing the Congress of aligning with Pakistan’s narrative, the BJP highlighted that reports on the Indian Air Force’s support for all 36 Rafale aircraft indicate no losses occurred. Poonawalla criticized Rahul Gandhi for allegedly undermining India’s security matters and armed forces with his statements.
