The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Recent attacks on police personnel and safety advisories issued by the Punjab Police have raised serious concerns.
BJP national spokesperson R.P. Singh highlighted safety advisories for police officers, including instructions to avoid traveling alone, not wear uniforms in public places, and refrain from using two-wheelers due to fears of targeted attacks. Singh questioned whether Punjab was heading towards a “Vibrant Punjab” or a “Frightened Punjab,” citing recent violent incidents as signs of escalating gang violence and threats linked to terrorism.
Singh expressed alarm over the state’s security condition, pointing to the killing of ASI Joga Singh and two Punjab Police personnel in Gurdaspur. He emphasized the impact of rising crime on public safety and police morale, stating that the fear among police personnel reflects a significant decline in law and order under the AAP government.
Singh called for decisive leadership and a zero-tolerance approach against criminal elements to address the security crisis in Punjab. He emphasized the need for the government to support security forces and ensure the safety of both police personnel and citizens in the state.
