The BJP national spokesperson, Sudhanshu Trivedi, expressed concerns about the INDIA bloc facing an existential threat, attributing it to the Congress’ opportunistic politics. Trivedi’s criticism follows the Congress candidate’s defeat in the Rajya Sabha polls in Jharkhand, despite the alliance’s numerical strength.
The loss in Jharkhand has led to a blame game among key allies like Congress, JMM, and CPI (ML), revealing internal rifts within the INDIA alliance. Trivedi highlighted the diminishing relevance of the alliance, especially after the Congress severed ties with DMK, leaving only the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) as its ally in South India.
Questioning the Congress party’s coalition longevity, Trivedi emphasized the need for introspection within the party. He pointed out opportunistic behaviors during the Bihar elections as a reason for the alliance’s current state. Trivedi also commented on Congress cadres celebrating Rahul Gandhi’s birthday, leaving the legacy shaping to them.
