Rajasthan BJP In-Charge Radha Mohan Das Agarwal criticized the Congress for organizing political events during the NEET exam period, causing inconvenience to students. Agarwal demanded an apology from the Congress and suggested compensating affected students with Rs 5 crore. He highlighted instances where students faced difficulties due to traffic disruptions caused by Congress activities.
Agarwal emphasized the importance of a strong party organization for political success during a meeting with urban local body heads in Ajmer. He refrained from commenting directly on the state government’s performance and a possible Cabinet expansion, stating that such decisions lie with the Chief Minister. Agarwal also condemned the Congress, labeling the Emergency period as a dark chapter in India’s democratic history.
The BJP leader accused the Congress of suppressing democratic rights during the Emergency and criticized its unchanged political mindset even after five decades. Agarwal mentioned that internal organizational discussions and official information on Cabinet expansion would come from Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. He also addressed allegations against State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra, stating he would comment after gathering information.
Agarwal responded to criticism from former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, acknowledging the right of opposition leaders to express their views. He stressed the BJP’s approach of keeping critics close and highlighted the party’s differences with the Congress. The meeting in Ajmer, attended by Agarwal and Rajasthan Urban Development Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, discussed preparations for upcoming local body elections in the state.
