The BJP has commenced the selection process for its new national president, with senior leaders nominating 45-year-old working president Nitin Nabin. This move reflects a focus on youth leadership within the party. Anurag Thakur, a BJP MP, highlighted that the party, known as the world’s largest political party, is poised to appoint one of the youngest national presidents.
Thakur underscored the BJP’s commitment to providing opportunities to leaders from diverse backgrounds at a young age. Nitin Nabin, a five-time MLA and former minister associated with the BJP Yuva Morcha, is seen as a candidate with experience in governance and organization. He is recognized for his ability to connect with the youth, particularly Generation Z.
Union Minister Giriraj Singh praised the nomination process, noting that the BJP’s emphasis on meritocracy allows grassroots workers like Nitin Nabin to rise to the position of national president. Singh contrasted this with other parties characterized by dynasty politics, such as the Congress. Nitin Nabin, hailing from Bihar and following in his father’s political footsteps, has established himself as a prominent BJP leader in the state.
