The Karnataka unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) commenced its State Executive meeting in Bengaluru at Palace Grounds. Union Minister for Culture and Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the meeting at Gayatri Grand, Palace Grounds, in the presence of national and state leaders. Shekhawat expressed confidence in the BJP’s ability to secure a majority in the upcoming 2028 State Assembly elections.
During the meeting, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat emphasized that it was not just an organizational gathering but also a session for introspection and organizational evaluation. Reflecting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India, he reiterated the party’s commitment to removing what he termed a corrupt government in Karnataka and regaining authority. Shekhawat highlighted the inspiration drawn from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy, motivating the party and its cadre nationwide.
Describing the BJP as a movement rooted in cultural nationalism, Shekhawat recalled former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s words about the party’s rise bringing light and prosperity. He emphasized the need for ideological resurgence and organizational rejuvenation, tracing the party’s growth from the Bharatiya Jana Sangh to the world’s largest political party. Shekhawat lauded former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa for his significant role in strengthening the party in Karnataka.
Expressing optimism about the BJP’s return to power in Karnataka with a substantial majority in 2028, Shekhawat paid tribute to early party workers for laying a strong foundation through dedication and organizational efforts. Criticizing the Congress for imposing the Emergency and highlighting alleged irregularities in Karnataka, he urged for a change in governance. Shekhawat called for party workers to focus on upcoming elections and grassroots strengthening efforts across the state.
