Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader R. Ashoka criticized Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar for allegedly concealing irregularities in the government’s operations. Ashoka challenged Shivakumar to disclose the findings of a committee investigating purported violations in tender processes. Responding to Shivakumar’s accusations of being linked to the “garbage mafia,” Ashoka defended his role as the Leader of Opposition, emphasizing his responsibility to question the government’s actions on behalf of the people.
Ashoka accused Shivakumar of lacking transparency and governance, labeling his statements as a farce. He highlighted discontent within the Congress party, with legislators openly expressing concerns to the party leadership in New Delhi. Ashoka demanded the immediate release of the committee’s report on tender irregularities to the public, urging Shivakumar to uphold transparency and accountability.
The BJP leader alleged that the committee was established to mask tender rule violations and insisted on full disclosure of its findings. Ashoka concluded by condemning the Congress government for mismanagement and expressed confidence that the truth would surface once the report became public. Earlier, Ashoka had called for an impartial investigation into alleged irregularities in the Integrated Solid Waste Management project tender process in Bengaluru.
