Senior BJP leader R. Ashoka praised the Directorate General of Civil Aviation for renewing the license of the Government Flying Training School (GFTS) in Jakkur, Bengaluru. Ashoka claimed this renewal as a win for public vigilance and BJP’s opposition to the state government’s alleged plans to relocate the institution.
The BJP leader emphasized that the renewal, valid for the next five years, signifies the continuation of flying operations at Jakkur. He highlighted the BJP’s stance against shifting the flying school and the importance of preserving it as a valuable aviation asset for Bengaluru.
Ashoka described the license renewal as a significant victory for public vigilance, thwarting what he termed as attempts to exploit public land for real estate purposes. He stressed the historical and public value of the flying institution, urging its protection against any threats to its existence.
The BJP leader criticized the handling of public land in Karnataka, citing concerns related to other institutions like KSIC and the Jakkur Aerodrome. He reiterated the party’s commitment to safeguarding public assets and heritage sites from being compromised for private interests.
Ashoka reaffirmed the BJP’s dedication to defending public land and institutions from being sacrificed for vested interests. He highlighted the collective effort of citizens, aviation professionals, and students in advocating for the retention of the flying school at Jakkur, emphasizing the significance of this victory.
