BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh has urged the AAP-led Punjab government to fulfill the promises made in the previous year’s budget before introducing a new budget on March 8. Chugh criticized the government for failing to deliver on key projects announced in the previous budget, such as the Drug Census and infrastructure upgrades. He highlighted instances where allocated funds were reportedly unused, including for initiatives like indoor gyms and streetlight installations.
Chugh also raised concerns about unfulfilled commitments related to projects like the PM Ekta Mall in Amritsar and the development of eco-tourism hubs. He pointed out discrepancies between promises made by the AAP government, like the assurance of Minimum Support Price for crops, and the actual allocations in the state budgets. The BJP leader questioned the timing of potential new schemes, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in government spending before new announcements are made.
