Bharatiya Janata Party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh criticized the Punjab government for its handling of the state’s law and order situation. Chugh accused Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of engaging in divisive politics instead of addressing public concerns. He highlighted a rise in crime and violence in Punjab, emphasizing the failure of the state government to maintain law and order.
Chugh further alleged that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was deflecting attention from his shortcomings by targeting media outlets and social media influencers. He pointed out instances of violence in the state, including attacks on police stations, religious sites, and police personnel, indicating a breakdown in law enforcement.
The BJP leader also raised concerns about the unchecked operations of the drug mafia in Punjab, attributing the situation to institutionalized corruption within the government. He expressed solidarity with the people of Punjab, stating that they are discontented with the current administration and its handling of crucial issues.
Regarding a recent incident outside the residence of singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s manager, Chugh described it as regrettable and assured that strict action would be taken against the perpetrators. He responded to allegations of political pressure on Diljit Dosanjh, challenging Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to provide evidence to support the claims.
Chugh addressed the NEET examination paper leak, mentioning that a CBI inquiry had been initiated by the Central government to investigate the matter thoroughly. He echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for economic self-restraint and emphasized the importance of reducing reliance on foreign products in favor of domestic goods.
In a veiled reference to critics, Chugh remarked that those aligning with foreign interests or engaging in anti-national activities cannot be deterred.
