Reacting to the Maharashtra local body election results, BJP MLA Ram Kadam expressed that the Mahayuti alliance’s confidence and winning mindset led to a significant victory. Kadam attributed the success to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ leadership and the developmental work carried out in the state. He emphasized that the government’s performance set a strong foundation for success in both the Assembly elections and the local body polls. Kadam highlighted infrastructure projects and welfare schemes that benefited various sections of society, especially farmers. He criticized the Opposition for approaching the election with a defeatist attitude and focusing on excuses rather than campaigning actively. In contrast, he praised the Mahayuti’s approach of actively engaging with voters, which he believed contributed to their victory. Another BJP leader, Sanjay Sarawagi, commended the party’s increasing popularity nationwide and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s focus on inclusive development for the growing mandate in favor of the BJP. The ruling Mahayuti alliance, consisting of the BJP, Shiv Sena, and the NCP, secured a sweeping victory in elections to 288 municipal councils and nagar panchayats, winning 207 municipal president posts. The Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) was left with only 44 posts. The BJP emerged as the single-largest party with 117 municipal president posts, followed by Shiv Sena and the NCP. The Congress, NCP faction, and Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena(UBT) also secured posts, highlighting the continued dominance of the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra.
