BJP MP Nishikant Dubey claimed that former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru ordered the arrest of Bharatiya Jana Sangh founder Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee for opposing Article 370 and the permit system to enter Kashmir. Dubey alleged that Mookerjee died under mysterious circumstances in a Kashmiri jail, which Nehru allegedly covered up. He stated that Nehru instructed to crush a nationwide agitation and ban participating organizations before leaving for a foreign tour.
Earlier, Dubey accused the Nehru-Gandhi family of conspiring to make India a Muslim nation. He also alleged that Nehru tried to obstruct the inauguration of the Somnath Temple and wrote threatening letters to then-President Rajendra Prasad. Dubey shared a government note from 1951 claiming Nehru’s efforts to prevent the temple’s inauguration and his apologies to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan over the issue.
