The BJP has chosen Abhishek Kumar, a close associate of BJP chief Nitin Nabin, as its official candidate for the by-election in Bihar’s Bankipur Assembly constituency. Abhishek Kumar, who previously served as the Vice-President of the BJP Yuva Morcha in the Bankipur region, has a long history of active involvement in the party.
The party’s Central Election Committee approved Abhishek Kumar’s candidature, formally declaring his name through a statement released by Arun Singh, the BJP National General Secretary and headquarters in-charge. Known for his close association with BJP National President Nitin Nabin, Abhishek Kumar belongs to the Kayastha community, which holds significant influence in the Bankipur constituency.
Bankipur, a crucial urban constituency in Bihar and a traditional BJP stronghold, is set to witness a competitive by-election. With major parties gearing up for an intense campaign, the BJP plans to highlight the achievements of the Central and Bihar governments, along with its strong organizational presence in the region.
The upcoming by-election in Bankipur is expected to feature a multi-cornered contest, with Abhishek Kumar representing the BJP, Prashant Kishor from the Jan Suraaj Party, and Rekha Gupta nominated by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). As political parties finalize their campaign strategies and outreach plans, the bypoll is gaining attention as a prestigious electoral battle in Bihar this year.
