The national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Nitin Nabin, is set to arrive in Kolkata for a two-day visit during the crucial two-phase Assembly elections in West Bengal. Upon arrival at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, he will kick off his schedule with a meeting with core party leaders at a hotel in New Town. This visit aims to strategize for the BJP’s organizational zones in Kolkata and Howrah-Hooghly-East Midnapore-West Midnapore.
Nabin will also engage with the party’s Information Technology, social media cell, and narrative creation unit members in West Bengal. Later in the day, he is scheduled to meet with central party leaders and Union Ministers present in the state for campaign activities. The visit will continue with a packed schedule on Wednesday, details of which will be shared with the media later on Tuesday.
During his stay, Nabin will focus on finalizing the party manifesto, termed as “Sankalp Patra,” for the Assembly elections. The BJP’s West Bengal unit plans to release the manifesto on March 28, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah expected to unveil it during his visit for organizational and campaign purposes. Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress has already unveiled its election manifesto on March 20, outlining a 10-point promise for the state across various sectors.
The forthcoming West Bengal Assembly elections are scheduled in two phases on April 23 and April 29, covering 294 constituencies. The first phase will witness polling in 152 constituencies, followed by the remaining 142 constituencies in the second phase.
