BJP IT Cell Chief and West Bengal observer, Amit Malviya, criticized the Mamata Banerjee-led government for an incident in Baruipur where a mother and daughter were allegedly assaulted by a shopkeeper and his son. The women were reportedly attacked after a dispute at a local shop, as shared in a video by Malviya. He described the incident as “shameful and unacceptable.”
Malviya highlighted the incident in Baruipur, stating that a Hindu woman and her daughter were denied service at a shop and faced abuse and physical assault when they protested. He emphasized the importance of coexistence and mutual respect, condemning any form of discrimination or violence based on faith or appearance.
Calling for swift action, Malviya urged the authorities to investigate thoroughly and ensure justice for the victims. He stressed the need for upholding law and order to guarantee the safety and equal treatment of all citizens. The women, identified as Namita Biswas and Pallabi Biswas, lodged a complaint with the local police against the shopkeeper and his son.
Police sources confirmed receiving the complaint and stated that the matter was under examination. No arrests had been made in connection with the incident at the time of reporting.
