Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Jalandhar on July 17, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Punjab President Kewal Singh Dhillon inspected the arrangements for the event. Dhillon visited the redeveloped Jalandhar Cantonment Railway Station and the rally venue, holding discussions with police, civil administration, and Indian Railways officials regarding the preparations. He mentioned that PM Modi’s visit aims to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various significant development projects in Punjab.
Dhillon highlighted that PM Modi’s visits to Punjab often bring major development initiatives for the state, and this visit is no exception, with projects worth crores set to be unveiled. During the visit, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the upgraded railway stations at Jalandhar Cantonment, Mohali, Muktsar Sahib, and Anandpur Sahib, which now offer modern facilities like waiting lounges, free Wi-Fi, food courts, and more amenities for passengers.
Apart from the railway station upgrades, PM Modi will also launch other key projects aimed at boosting Punjab’s development, including new national highway projects and initiatives at PGIMER in Chandigarh to enhance healthcare services. Additionally, a new multipurpose auditorium for students at Panjab University in Chandigarh will be inaugurated during the visit. Dhillon emphasized PM Modi’s vision to position India as a global leader, with Punjab playing a crucial role in this journey of progress.
Dhillon attributed the ongoing development in Punjab to the initiatives of the Central government, expressing confidence that the people of Punjab will support BJP’s development agenda in the upcoming 2027 Assembly elections, leading to the party forming the next government in the state.
