The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have warned of a defamation lawsuit against Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, if he fails to provide evidence supporting his claim of the BJP plotting against his party. Abdullah accused the BJP of trying to lure NC MLAs with money and ministerial positions, prompting a strong denial from the BJP. Leader of Opposition in the J&K Assembly, Sunil Sharma, dismissed the allegations as baseless and challenged Abdullah to name the implicated BJP leaders.
BJP National Spokesperson R.P. Singh has openly challenged CM Abdullah to substantiate his accusations or face legal action for defamation. Meanwhile, NCP MP Praful Patel emphasized that there is no intention of a government change in Jammu and Kashmir and cautioned against implicating the BJP in internal party matters. NC MP Sajjad Ahmed Kichloo defended Abdullah’s integrity, citing past instances of political maneuvering to sway elected representatives.
Congress MP Jebi Mather supported the NC’s claims, accusing the BJP of attempting to influence MLAs through various means in different states, including Kashmir. She condemned these alleged actions as detrimental to democracy, highlighting concerns over the BJP’s tactics in various regions.
