BJP MP Manoj Tiwari criticized AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal for his involvement in a Sundarkand recitation and the party’s focus on the alleged Ram Temple donation theft. Tiwari questioned the sincerity of Kejriwal’s religious gestures, suggesting they were politically driven. He accused Kejriwal of inconsistency in his stance on Hindu religious matters.
Tiwari labeled Kejriwal as a ‘chunavi Hindu,’ implying his religious actions were election-oriented rather than genuine. He alleged that Kejriwal’s support for Sundar Kand contradicted his opposition to the construction of the Mathura Shri Krishna Bhoomi temple. The remarks by Tiwari surfaced amidst a verbal clash between political parties regarding the AAP’s stance on the Ram Temple donation issue.
The Aam Aadmi Party initiated a nationwide signature campaign demanding severe punishment for those linked to the alleged Ram Temple donation embezzlement. The campaign commenced with a Sundarkand recitation in Delhi’s Rohini, attended by Arvind Kejriwal. Sundarkand, a revered chapter of the Ramcharitmanas dedicated to Lord Hanuman, holds significance for devotees nationwide.
Kejriwal, during the campaign launch, sought public support with letters addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The campaign, termed ‘chanda-chori’ (donation theft) by AAP, aims to ensure a transparent probe and strict penalties for any individuals found guilty of donation-related irregularities. The BJP dismissed the campaign as politically motivated, opposing the AAP’s efforts.
Delhi BJP President Harsh Malhotra criticized Kejriwal’s participation in the Sundarkand recitation, labeling it a mere political tactic to regain popularity. Malhotra accused Kejriwal of disrespecting Hindu beliefs by showcasing what he termed as insincere devotion to Lord Hanuman and the Sundarkand Paath.
