In response to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister of Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu confirmed the successful recovery of the Black Box from the tragic aircraft accident near Baramati. This acknowledgment highlights the severity of the incident that resulted in multiple fatalities, including that of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.

Minister Naidu expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved families, terming the event as an “unfortunate incident” and stressing the Ministry’s serious approach towards the matter. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has promptly secured the crash site and launched a high-level investigation.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has initiated a formal probe under the AAIB Rules, with teams from AAIB and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) swiftly reaching the accident site. The recovery of the Black Box is anticipated to offer crucial insights into the aircraft’s final moments.

Investigations are underway, focusing on technical records, operational logs, and physical evidence from the site to establish a detailed sequence of events. Minister Naidu assured that the investigation process would be comprehensive, transparent, and time-bound, adhering strictly to the Aircraft (Investigation of Accidents and Incidents) Rules, 2025.

Addressing Chief Minister Fadnavis’ safety concerns for the future, the Union Minister affirmed the government’s commitment to addressing prevention measures. Upon receiving the preliminary and final findings, necessary safety recommendations and regulatory actions will be implemented in collaboration with AAIB and DGCA.

The Union Government acknowledged the cooperation of the Maharashtra Government, underscoring the significance of local administrative assistance and site access in expediting the investigation. The Ministry pledged to share significant investigation outcomes with the state government as they unfold.
