Voting is ongoing in Maharashtra for elections to 29 municipal corporations, with Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sonali Bendre, and Bhagyashree participating in the process. Sonali, accompanied by her husband and son, proudly displayed their inked fingers after voting. Bhagyashree, after casting her vote, highlighted the need to address pollution and road conditions in Mumbai.

Bhagyashree emphasized the urgency of completing roadwork promptly due to heavy traffic and inconvenience caused by ongoing construction. She encouraged citizens to utilize the holiday to exercise their democratic right and stressed the importance of voting. Polling for the municipal corporations started at 7.30 a.m. and will continue until 5.30 p.m., with extensive arrangements made across polling stations.

In total, elections are being held for 2,801 seats, as some candidates were elected unopposed, leading to no voting for those seats. Over 3.48 crore voters will determine the fate of 15,931 candidates, with the counting of votes scheduled for January 16. Municipal elections are taking place in various cities, including Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and several others.
