Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has reportedly received a threat on Facebook, allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The threat, written in Hindi, warned against those going against Indian culture, specifically mentioning Aamir Khan and accusing him of promoting “love jihad.”
The Mumbai Police confirmed that they are aware of the threat, which they learned about through media reports. However, neither Aamir Khan nor his team has filed a formal complaint yet. The police are currently verifying the authenticity of the viral post before taking any further action.
Aamir Khan clarified that his character Phunsukh Wangdu from the movie “3 Idiots” is not based on educationist and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk. During the London Indian Film Festival, Aamir Khan addressed the misconception when an audience member asked about Sonam Wangchuk’s inspiration behind the character in the film.
“3 Idiots,” directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is a popular Bollywood movie that stars Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, and Sharman Joshi in lead roles. The film, narrated through two timelines, humorously critiques the Indian education system and explores the friendship of three students at an engineering college.
