Panic struck the administration in Bihar’s Siwan when a bomb threat was received at the Siwan Civil Court through an unknown email, warning of an explosion by 12 p.m. In response, the district administration and police took immediate action, placing the area on high alert. Siwan Superintendent of Police Puran Kumar Jha and District Magistrate Vivek Ranjan Maitreya personally oversaw security measures at the court premises.
The court complex was sealed off and transformed into a police camp, with a bomb disposal squad conducting an extensive search operation. Stringent security checks are ongoing at all entry points using advanced security measures like metal detectors. Despite a thorough search, no suspicious items or explosives have been found yet.
Chaos ensued among lawyers and court staff as news of the threat spread, leading to their swift evacuation to safe locations as a precaution. Quick Response Teams, ambulance services, and fire brigade units are on high alert to handle any emergency. Unauthorised vehicles are banned from entering the court premises, with traffic routes in the vicinity being redirected.
A dog squad is combing through the court complex, while the cyber cell has been tasked to trace the source of the threatening email. Both the Siwan District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police conducted a detailed inspection, issuing directives to bolster security. The situation at the Siwan Civil Court is currently under control, with authorities emphasizing a zero-risk approach.
