Court premises in Rajasthan’s Barmer and Nagaur districts were placed on high alert following the receipt of bomb threat emails on Monday. The threatening emails, containing similar content at both locations, mentioned terrorist Ajmal Kasab and warned of a possible blast before 1 PM. Promptly, police evacuated the court complexes and conducted thorough searches with bomb disposal and dog squads.
In Barmer, a threatening email sent to the District Judge’s official address caused panic at the court premises. Police swiftly evacuated the complex and initiated a search operation, with Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh Meena leading the efforts alongside senior officials. Security was heightened as a precaution, and an investigation is underway to trace the email source and sender.
Similarly, in Nagaur’s Merta District Judge (DJ) Court premises, a similar threatening email led to the evacuation of the area after its receipt late Sunday night. Bomb disposal squads and police teams rushed to the site for inspection, while intelligence agencies, including the Intelligence Bureau (IB), began probing the threat. The court complex was sealed temporarily, and security measures were reinforced in the vicinity.
Authorities in both districts have heightened security at the court complexes, deploying dog squads, bomb disposal teams, and additional police personnel. Surveillance in the surrounding areas has been intensified to prevent any potential incidents and ensure the safety of court staff, lawyers, and visitors.
