The makers of the highly anticipated war drama Border 2 hosted a special event at Mumbai’s United Services Club on January 12 to unveil the reimagined version of the iconic song ‘Jaate Hue Lamhon’. The launch ceremony brought together the film’s cast, crew, and Indian Naval Officers in a tribute to the nation’s armed forces.

The evening marked a significant milestone in the film’s promotional campaign, following the success of another track, ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’, which was launched earlier at Longewala-Tanot in Jaisalmer and received widespread appreciation from audiences nationwide.

Star-Studded Performances and Naval Tribute

The event featured memorable performances that honored India’s military heritage. Suniel Shetty made a surprise appearance alongside co-stars Ahan Shetty and Anyaa Singh, adding star power to the occasion. In a touching gesture, Naval Officers delivered a spirited band performance that resonated with the evening’s patriotic theme.

The highlight of the launch was the live rendition of ‘Jaate Hue Lamhon’ performed by renowned singers Roop Kumar Rathod and Vishal Mishra, bringing emotional depth to the reimagined composition.

Producer Bhushan Kumar attended the launch along with Nidhi Dutta and co-producers Shiv Chanana and Binnoy Gandhi, representing the collaborative effort behind the ambitious project.

Musical Legacy Meets Contemporary Vision

Originally composed by Anu Malik with lyrics penned by Javed Akhtar, ‘Jaate Hue Lamhon’ holds a special place in Indian cinema. For Border 2, acclaimed music director Mithoon has reimagined the track while preserving its emotional core.

The updated version, sung by Vishal Mishra and Roop Kumar Rathod, blends modern musical arrangements with the timeless sentiment of the original composition. According to the makers, the song serves as a heartfelt tribute to the love, sacrifice, and resilience demonstrated by soldiers’ families.

The track explores themes of separation and emotional strength, aligning perfectly with Border 2’s narrative focus on patriotism and the real-life experiences of India’s armed forces.

Strategic Music-Led Campaign

The launch of ‘Jaate Hue Lamhon’ represents a continuation of Border 2’s music-driven promotional strategy. Building on the positive response to ‘Ghar Kab Aaoge’, the makers aim to connect with audiences across multiple generations through emotionally resonant musical content.

This approach has generated significant anticipation for the film, which is scheduled for theatrical release on January 23, 2026.

Production Details

Border 2 is produced by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in collaboration with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films. The production team includes Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta as producers, with Anurag Singh serving as director.

The film continues the legacy of the 1997 blockbuster Border, which remains one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated war films. Border 2 promises to deliver a powerful narrative centered on the courage and dedication of India’s armed forces.

With its combination of compelling storytelling, patriotic themes, and musical excellence, Border 2 is positioned as one of the most anticipated releases of early 2026.
