A tragic incident unfolded in Sanjay Nagar, Porsa town of Morena district, where a seven-year-old boy named Rishabh Tomar lost his life after being accidentally shot in the head by a 14-year-old boy playing with a licensed rifle. The young victim, playing with the landlord’s sons, was struck by a bullet from the rifle, leading to his immediate death.
The rifle, a .315 bore licensed weapon belonging to the landlord, was taken down by the landlord’s 14-year-old son from a room in the house where they were playing. The sudden discharge of the weapon resulted in Rishabh suffering severe injuries and succumbing to the fatal shot, leaving him lying in a pool of blood.
Authorities were alerted to the scene, and the police arrived promptly. The boy’s body was taken for a post-mortem examination at the Porsa mortuary. Investigations by the police suggest the shooting was accidental, occurring while the children were playing without supervision. However, the victim’s family has raised suspicions of foul play, alleging a different weapon was involved and that the landlord fled with the original one.
The tragic incident has left both families devastated and the neighborhood in mourning. Authorities have emphasized the importance of securely storing firearms, especially in households with children, to prevent such unfortunate accidents. The police are diligently investigating the matter, considering all angles, including the family’s claims of a possible cover-up.
