In a significant gesture, Bratislava Castle in Slovakia was lit up in the colors of the Indian national flag to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking the first-ever visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since its independence in 1993.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson shared the striking visuals on social media, highlighting the historic nature of the visit celebrated with a blend of history. The castle, situated on a hill overlooking the Danube River, was bathed in saffron, white, and green as a symbol of the strengthening friendship between India and Slovakia.
This symbolic gesture, showcasing the warmth between the two nations, was seen as a reflection of Bratislava’s increasing strategic interest in enhancing ties with New Delhi.
